Just one letter going out this weekend

Happy Easter all! Did you get any fancy Easter mail? I know I sent off one, but for this long weekend, I managed just to get one letter written and that was for a swap I had made on swapbot.

In other news my laptop is really like, broken. It has a kind of virus and it won't let me post things or go to certain websites. So yet another item to add to my growing to do list!

I went to Howard's Storage shop today. Wow. Amazing. Got some great ideas, and also purchased some scented drawer liners. So cute but I wish they had masculine ones too.

#4 - Bad Book Habit

4. Bad Book Habit?

Leaving them around the place. I'm forever leaving large piles of books I've borrowed from the library in places where they will fall off. Like piling them ontop of the small ottoman we have in the lounge. All someone has to do is walk past and brush the edge of the books and they will all cascade to the ground!!!
Hrm. I'm going to have to find a safe place to put all my books I think!

The stuff that makes you smile

Well my mailbox finally had a smile on it because I recieved some great stuff last week.
Firstly, the penpal magazine from Ankepanke who is just awesome. I wish I had her handwriting and ability!  I loved the magazine and the little things she put inside it too.

Such an envelope full of smiles!

I got a letter from Chanou, complete with envies from a private swap that we did. And since she wrote me such a cute letter, I'm going to write her one back. She also sent me some various items including Hello Kitty tissues. How gorgeous!

The next letter was from my regular American penpal Stephanie who sent me some postcards of the place she lives, and a badge with my name on it. Loving the cute watermelon tag too.

Here is a letter I sent out to Amy at the very end of last week. She said she didn't really like cutesy girly stuff, so I hope that she likes this awesome envelope!

My Mail Week

Greetings!
Once again, mainly outgoing over the past few days.

Got some nice fruity tea to try!

Off to Patti in the USA

Off to Renae in Australia and Allie in the UK

I've been sorting through my writing papers and envelopes. But even after I do that, it still looks messy~! Gr!
I keep mine in a set of drawers.

How do you store your writing papers?

What Books Do you Have on Request at the Library?

Question 3

At the moment (would you believe it), none!
Every few weeks I collate a list and reserve them at the library. As it happens I've just come to the end of my list and so I need to start one again and start reserving.

2. What are you reading right now?

Question Two: What Are you Reading Right Now?

I just finished off reading three Cathy Glass books, which are quite full on (true stories about her foster caring experiences) and so I need something light and bright.  A while back I started reading The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice. I suppose you could call it an erotic novel (although to be honest it's quite tame and I am enjoying the storyline better than the sex!), and finished off the second quickly also.  I have one more to read. Beauty's Release - so I think I'll snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and do some reading this afternoon.

What are YOU reading?

55 days of Bookish Questions

That's a lot of questions...a lot of days...but I found this list of questions on a website and since reading (along with penpalling) is one of my favourite past times, I thought I'd do this.

Here's the list, along with my answer for question 1.

1. Favourite Childhood Book
Without a doubt it would have to be the Faraway Tree, written by Enid Blighton.  I had the large, fully illustrated copy of all manner of these books like these as well as The Wishing Chair series.
I can still remember good old Moonface! The slippery dip and those wonderful cakes they would eat.  One needed to be careful of Dame Wash a Lot throwing her bucket of dirty water down the tree and let's not forget the wonderful land above the clouds and all the trouble Connie got into up there!  (Ordering a sardine icecream because she thought it didn't exist, and then having to eat it). What a naughty girl!

A magazine for Snail Mail Addicts!

You must must must check out this blog.
This girl has created a snailmail magazine (EXCITING!) and of course, naturally, I went ahead and purchased it after seeing it on Wreckthisgirls journal.  I'm so excited to get it in the mail, because her handwriting is SUPERB.  And her little drawings? *sigh*
So cute.

100 things I like

Is this not inspiring?
It looks awesome, and I wish I was that good at using different kinds of writing. In fact, I'm really crappy at it (i think) and could use some practice.  So I've created a swap on swapbot to do just this, and give everyone an opportunity to do something creative also.

[And if anyone knows the owner of this particular creative work, please let me know so I can credit]

Where's my mail?

Just WHAT is going on with my mail???
I feel as though I haven't received very much happy mail lately and it makes me sad. Boo.  I've sent out quite a bit in the past week or so however, so perhaps I'll have some to make me smile soon?

I got a lovely postcard from Anni in Finland the other day, but uh...that's about it.

Please send me some mail????!!!

What I"d really like to be a part of is a travelling notebook. They have them from time to time on swapbot, but it's a risk because there are so many flakers on that site.
