Favourite Childhood Book
Without a doubt it would have to be the
Faraway Tree, written by
Enid Blighton. I had the large, fully illustrated copy of all manner of these books like these as well as The Wishing Chair series.
I can still remember good old Moonface! The slippery dip and those wonderful cakes they would eat. One needed to be careful of Dame Wash a Lot throwing her bucket of dirty water down the tree and let's not forget the wonderful land above the clouds and all the trouble Connie got into up there! (Ordering a sardine icecream because she thought it didn't exist, and then having to eat it). What a naughty girl!
